Ceremonial Opening of new Parliament Session today
The Ceremonial Opening of the Fourth Session of the Ninth Parliament will take place at 10.00am today by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The President will deliver his Statement of Government Policy at the start of the ceremonial opening. Parliament will thereafter be adjourned till 9.30am tomorrow (9).
A two-day debate on the President's Statement of Government Policy will take place tomorrow and day after.
President Wickremesinghe prorogued Parliament on January 27 and the new session of Parliament will commence from today.
