The Chairman of the Welfare Benefits Board, B. Wijayaratne has resigned from his post.
The resignation follows in the wake of allegations that the Welfare Benefits Board has so far failed to finalize the list for the ‘Aswesuma’ recipients.
Accordingly, it is reported that more than one million appeals are still pending.
