Ramalingam Chakrawarthy Karunakaran, Ms. Yogeswari Patgunarajah and Iyyampillai Dayanandaraja have been named as the latest members of the Presidential Task Force for One Country, One Law.
The appointments were announced in an extraordinary gazette issued by Secretary to the President P.B. Jayasundara on behalf of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He said the new members were appointed “focusing on the need for the pluralistic character and gender equity of the Sri Lankan Society to be reflected in the composition of the membership of this Task Force.”
The gazette also stated that Professor Dayananda Banda and Lecturer Mohomad Inthikab who were appointed as members of the Task Force have relinquished their memberships.
The objective of the Presidential Task Force as mentioned in the gazette is to present proposals to formulate a conceptual framework ideally suited for Sri Lanka.
