A child aged one year and seven months has died in Balangoda after being accidentally run over by a lorry driven by his father.
The tragedy occurred on the night of April 13 at a house in Rukmalkandura, Balangoda. The lorry was reversing out of the garden when the left rear wheel had run over the child.
The victim was rushed to the Balangoda Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The 39-year-old father of the victim, who was driving the lorry at the time of the accident, has been arrested. Further investigations are ongoing.
