The Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs has issued a circular to all state institutions making it compulsory to reduce the age of retirement to 60 years.
Secretary to the Ministry M.M.P.K. Mayadunne said the previous circular increasing the retirement age to 65 years is revised and will come into effect from January 01, 2023.
Heads of government institutions are requested to grant opportunity to officers who are at present serving beyond the age of 60 years and those who complete the age of 60 years on or before December 31 this year to retire on their option on or before December 31 this year.
