A tense situation has risen outside the Narammala police after a civilan driver was killed in what is reported to be an accidental fire by a Sub Inspector (SI)
A SI in civvies and a trainee policeman had stopped a lorry, but the driver had failed to stop at Dampelessa.
The SI and the trainee had given chase on a bike and managed to stop the vehicle two kilometers away.
The SI had pointed his weapon at the driver when it had reportedly gone off accidentally.
However villagers claim he had fired purposely.
Later villagers surrounded the police and started protesting.
The STF has been called in.
