A search operation has been launched for about 30 inmates who have escaped from the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre following a clash there, Police said.
At least 24 others have been admitted to the Welikanda hospital after being injured in the clash.
Over 90 inmates had escaped from the Centre during the clash, but about 60 have been located and brought back to the Centre.
Security in the rehabilitation Centre has been increased following the incident, an official at the Centre said.
