Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) nabbed a Multi Day Fishing Vessel with 7 fishermen in possession of illegally harvested 20 Kgs of dried Shark flesh recently.
SLCG personnel of Dikovita Fishery Harbour recovered the items hidden in a compartment of the Vessel during a search operation, the SLCG said.
The preliminary investigations revealed that the shark fins collected from several multi-day fishing trawlers were transported for sale.
The suspects and the seized items were handed over to Dikovita Fisheries Inspector for onward legal proceedings, the SLCG also said.
