The Colombo Municipal Council’ Fire Department said that they were combating two fires that erupted in three different locations in Colombo today.
Chief Fire officer (Act) of the CMC, P.D.K.A Willson told the Sunday Times that the fire fighters managed to douse a fire which occurred at Amer street area where a heap of scrap metal had caught on fire.
The Keselwatta police told the Sunday Times that they are investigating the fire.
A Three-wheeler had burned due to the fire as well.
The repurpose iron and rubble which are kept at the yard and scrap metal in the yard had burned due to the fire.
However no one was injured due to the fire.
In a separate incident a fire broke out at electronic item Importation Company building.
The Company had computers, printers as well as photocopy machines.
The CMC’s Fire fighters main office said they have difficulty dousing the fire at the building as there is limited access.
He said that navy and air force were assisting them to control the fire
