Today is first day of the committee stage debate of Budget 2023. Today is the first of 13 days allotted for the committee stage debate.
Among the heads of expenditure that will be debated today are those of the President, office of the Prime Minister, Judges of the Superior Courts, office of the Cabinet of Ministers, independent commissions including the Election and Human Rights Commissions and Parliament.
The debate will continue till December 8, with the vote on the final reading scheduled for later that evening.
The second reading of the budget was passed yesterday with a majority of 37 votes.
