Condolence from Lankan leaders on death of former Japanese PM

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former President Maithripala Sirisena have extended their condolences on the death of Former Prime Minister of Japan, . Shinzo Abe.

President Rajapaksa tweeted , “Deeply saddened by the tragic death of former Japan PM Shinzo Abe. Japan has lost a highly respected politician. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the LDP & to the people of Japan.”

Former President Sirisena also tweeted , “ Deeply saddened to hear about the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Mr Abe was an outstanding leader of Japan and a good friend of Sri Lanka. My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Abe and to the people of Japan.”

Mr.Abe during his office tenure supported many Development projects in Sri Lanka with Financial assistance and development loans.
