Container driver escaping after accident arrested

News

A container driver trying to escape after crashing into a colour light near the Colombo port has been arrested by the Police and produced in courts.

The vehicle leaving the Colombo Port had crashed into a colour light close to Ingurukade Junction in the Grandpass police area on Monday.

However, police had given chase and stopped the driver and arrested him. He was produced in courts and remanded.

Extensive damage had been caused to the colour lights.

On the directions of the OIC of the traffic division of the Grandpass police SI Iddagoda the action was filed by Police Sergeant Kumara (11102).
