Colombo Fort Magistrate Court issued an order to arrest MP Johnston Fernando over Galle Face attack on May 09.
The Attorney General's Department sought an open warrant from Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court for the arrest of MP Johnston Fernando.
MP Johnston Fernando also filed a writ application today with the Court of Appeal preventing him being arrested.
He has been in hiding since May 15, when a court order was issued for his arrest as a suspect in the incident in front of Temple Trees and Gotagogama on May 9.
