Following a request made by police, the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court has issued an order preventing protest marches by the Inter University Students' Federation (IUSF) and other organisations from entering several areas in Kollupitiya and Colombo Fort today (7).
The court order prohibits 16 respondents and others who are participating in today's protest marches with them from blocking roads in the Fort, Kollupitiya and Slave Island police areas and obstructing the public and vehicular traffic using these roads between 11.00am and 10.00pm today.
It also prohibits protesters from entering the Presidential Secretariat, President's House, Finance Ministry and Galle Face and causing damage to public and private property.
