The port control Davison of the customs had detected 16 kg of heroin smuggled into the country via sea route.
The customs have received intelligence information that a ship named wide Juliet which was operating from Karachi and Pakistan was harboring heroin.
The customs officials checked the vessel and checked an air conditioned container on board and detected these drugs.
The officials said that the drugs estimated worth over Rs 647.7 million were taken into custody by the port control division while assistance of the Customs Drug Control Unit was also received during investigations.
The customs said that they are planning to hand over the suspects and the drugs to the Narcotic Division of the police.
