The Customs Department said it will be publish the names of institutions and individuals who violate customs laws and commit tax fraud by uploading the information on its official website www.customs.gov.lk.
The Department hopes this will discourage taxes evaders and motivate them to pay the proper amount of tax due to the government as well as minimise violations of import and export laws.
Details of individuals and institutions found guilty after an investigation under the Customs Ordinance will be made public.
