The final decision on the latest shipment of liquefied petroleum (LP) gas for Litro will be taken within the day, an official of the Consumer Affairs Ministry said.
The shipment has been held back after it did not have the required level of Ethyl mercaptan.
However, if a decision is taken to reject the shipment there would be an inevitable shortage of gas during the Christmas season.
The particular gas is required for consumers to check if there is a leak due to odor in the event of a leak.
