The Kataragama temple that usually attracts thousands of devotees during the annual Kataragama Perahera season is seeing lesser numbers of devotees this time due to pandemic triggered inter-province travel restrictions.
A deserted temple grounds and Kiri Vehera were witnessed after devotees were allowed to enter the temple premises.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
