The Chair of the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) Lasantha Alagiyawanna, State Minister instructed the Civil Security Department to prepare a program of action.
State Minister Alagiyawanna gave the instructions at the COPA meeting held this week under his chairmanship to examine the Auditor General's report and the current performance of the Civil Defense Department for the years 2019/2020/2021.
Alagiyawanna suggested a report to COPA by September 11th regarding the preparation of a legal framework for the Civil Security Department to fit the state budget.
Officials noted that there has been no recruitment in three . The Civil Security Force currently has 33687 members working, with details on their assignments and duties.
The Ministry of Defense Secretary, Kamal Gunaratne, explained the formation of the force, the department's purchases, projects, and the sale of grain and harvest grown by the force.
