An economic development officer who possessed 80 milligrams of ice was arrested by the Norochcholai police last night (14).
The officer is a 30-year-old resident of the Karamba area, and is attached to the Kalpitiya Regional Secretariat.
He was arrested while engaging in conversation with several others at Karamba intersection.
Norochchola Police Station OIC Inspector Dharma Kumara said that the Kalpitiya Regional Secretariat was informed regarding the arrest of the officer, and he is to be produced before the Puttalam Magistrate's Court.
