The verdict on the petition filed attempting the disentitlement of State Minister Diana Gamage from holding a parliamentary seat has been adjourned by the Court of Appeal today (October 18).
Hence, the verdict which was set to be issued before three-member Appellate Court Judicature composed of the Court of Appeal President Justice Nissanka Bandula Krunaratne, and Justices A. Marikkar and Khema Swarnadhipathi today (18) has been deferred to October 31, 2023.
The writ petition had been filed by Civil Activist Oshala Herath who raised the issue that Diana Gamage was ineligible to be in the service as a Member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka owing to her British Citizenship.
