Direct flights from Sri Lanka to Bangkok commenced today through Thai Smile airlines, Thai ambassador Poj Han Pol said at a press conference held at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
He further added that the flight services would be carried out during the seven days of the week. Mr Pol said that the same flight which reached 12.00 am would again depart towards Thailand after one hour.
The Smile Airlines services would provide direct flights from Thailand after passengers reach Bangkok. Direct flights to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong China, Australia, Singapore and Indonesia.
It is expected that the new flight services would improve tourism and help to reduce the forex issue.
