With the intervention of Lunama Ranaviru Village war heroes, one hundred bags of dry rations were distributed this morning (16) to 100 low-income families who had lost their sources of income due to the pandemic.
This programme has been implemented under the leadership of the late Ranaviru Piyatissa of the Lunama Ranaviru Village with the generous donation of Mr. Mahinda Karunaratne and the support of other war heroes.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
