District Secretaries made Additional Welfare Commissioners by President

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has designated all District Secretaries as Additional Welfare Commissioners, in order to accomplish the goals outlined in the Welfare Benefits Act under the authority granted to him as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies.

All Divisional Secretaries have also been appointed as Deputy Welfare Commissioners concurrently as of November 1, 2023.

Accordingly, the Additional Welfare Commissioners and Deputy Welfare Commissioners will be assigned tasks by the Welfare Benefits Board (WBB).
