Six persons including the Frontline Socialist Party's Duminda Nagamuwa who were arrested and sent for quarantine even after courts released them on bail have been released today.
Usually persons on quarantine are kept for a two-week period.
However, Nagamuwa and others arrested have been calling the government to release them from quarantine as they have not tested positive for COVID-19.
Nagamuwa and others were taken for quarantine on July 7 and have only completed nine days before they were released.
Meanwhile, other trade union leaders also taken away for quarantine in a similar manner have been holding protests at their camps.
