The cabinet yesterday approved to implement a project ‘E Grama Niladhari’ to collect and store day to day information required to carry out their duties and services.
The decision was taken based on a success of a pilot project implemented during 2016 in 162 Grama Niladhari divisions in four Districts.
In 2017 the incumbent cabinet has also granted permission to carry out the second phase of the same project in 7000 Grma Niladhari divisions.
At the cabinet meeting, the President as the Minister of Defence tabled a resolution to implement the project Island wide by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in consultancy with Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technological Agency (ICTA)
