The Election Commission has called political parties and independent groups to submit the copies of judgments along with the petitions in the event if nominations to contest the upcoming Local Government elections had been rejected and subsequently accepted by courts.
The notice said;
“The Election Commission has requested Secretaries or authorized representatives of the respective political parties and leaders of independent groups, to provide copies of petitions and judgements, to the District Election offices of the relevant District, if any legal action has been taken against the rejection of nomination papers submitted to contest the Local Authorities Elections scheduled to be held on May 6.”
