Former DIG and Chief of the Special Task Force (STF) Nimal Lewke joined the opposition Samagi Jana Balavwegaya (SJB) earlier today.
Speaking to Times Online, he said, “My idea was to join SJB as a professional with all my experience in the country. I’m looking at a professional angle to lead and strengthen the party and the society.”
“At this time I thought it was best to join to contribute as a professional. I have to give back to my country” he continued.
He emphasised that he has no intention of contesting elections in the future.
