An earthquake of a magnitude of 5.8 took place today around 1000 kilometers South East off Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean.
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau said that there was no impact on Sri Lanka.
Residents in Colombo too felt the tremor caused by earthquake.
