Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha said that steps have been taken by the Ministry of Education to hand over the students textbooks and school uniform material by the due date.
“There is an improvement in the time frames of the education system in the country when compared with last year.”, he said.
According to the new year's timetable for next year, the first term is to begin on February 21. This, delay caused to the education system due to COVID-19 and the economic crisis situation is slowly returning to normal, he added.
Also, the results of the 2022 (2023) G.C.E. Advanced Level examination are to be released this month.
This year's Advanced Level examination is all set to take place in November, and the Ordinary Level examination will take place within the first quarter of next year, he said.
School holidays have been reduced in order to follow the usual academic timetable as before the COVID-19 pandemic.
