The requirement to have an attendance of 80 per cent in school will be required for those students who want to sit the G.C.E. (A/L) from 2023, the Ministry of Education has decided.
The Ministry of Education had earlier issued a circular that the 80 per cent attendance requirement will not apply for the students sitting A/L for 2022. The delayed exam is due to be held early next year.
However the Ministry has now decided to reimplement the 80 per cent attendance requirement from 2023 onwards.
The rule was applicable during the pre-covid 19 period.
