The Election Commission will meet tomorrow while awaiting an appointment from Prime Minister Dinesh Guawardene to discuss about rescheduling the Local Government election day.
The Commission at tomorrow’s meeting is set to discuss about the next possible options regarding the conduct of the election which is now set to be postponed for the second time.
A Commission official said that they are hopeful of having the meeting with the Prime Minister this week.
The Commission now plans to get a possible date for the election following discussions with the premier.
The election was initially scheduled for March 10 and then postponed to April 25 which is now likely to be postponed again.
