Speaking in the Cabinet meeting today, Cabinet Spokesperson Bandula Gunawardena said that granting approval for Sri Lankan migrant workers to import fourwheeled fully electric vehicles has been further extended till September 23.
Earlier, migrant workers were given a time period from May 1 to December 31 last year, allowing them to import vehicles equal to 50 per cent of the remittances transmitted to the country via legal sources.
This decision was made to encourage foreign migrants to send their remittances via legal sources.
