Plans by the Railway Department to provide and efficient train service for those returning to work after the new year celebrations have been disrupted as some of their own staff members have not reported to work, officials said Tuesday.
As many as 11 office trains were cancelled today morning due to lack of engine drivers and other staff.
The disruption of services affected hundreds of those returning to work.
Railway officials said that the evening train services too would be affected as a result.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
