The Ministry of Energy has been closed until Friday after several officers were found positive for COVID-19, Minister Udaya Gammanpila said.
Minister Gammanpila has gone into self-quarantine though his antigen test recorded negative.
The closure comes just two days after the government decided to call public sector employees to work.
Meanwhile Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage also has test positive for COVID19.
Minister Aluthgamage in a social media post said a severe headache led him to obtain a Rapid Antigen Test in which he was tested positive. The Minister requested all those who were in contact with him from July 27 to be self-quarantined.
Mr Aluthgamage was on a TV show on Monday seated side by side with JVP's Namal Karunaratne who is currently involved in protests campaigns on the fertilizer issue.
