A gazette was issued yesterday(22) by the Minister of Tourism and Lands, Harin Fernando stating that the minimum entry fee to the Botanic Gardens in the country has been increased.
This will be in effect from July 1, 2023.
Accordingly, the entry for Local adults has been increased from Rs.100 to Rs.200, and for children below 12 years and school children from Rs.20 to Rs.30 per head.
Further, the fee for foreign adults has been increased from Rs.2000 to Rs.3000 per head, and an increase of Rs.500 from Rs.1000 to Rs.1500 for the children.
Meanwhile, A sum of Rs.50 will be charged to the adults aged over 60 years for entry upon the submission of their National Identity Card. Rs.2000 will be charged to Foreign school/university students for entry upon the submission of proof of their identity.
