Former Norwegian Environment Minister Eric Solheim has been appointed as President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s International Climate Advisor.
In a twitter message, Solheim said the President has a great vision for green economy and Lankan climate leadership. Mr. Solheim was the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme from 2016 to 2018.
The former diplomat also played a role as the special peace envoy and negotiator in the peace process between the government and the LTTE from 2000 to 2005.
