Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Central, North-western and Uva provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Mannar districts will experience rains or thundershowers during the afternoon or night.
The Meteorology Department said fairly heavy rainfall of about 75mm are in the above areas.
The public is requested to take precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
