Ex-Minister Duminda Dissanayake arrested over gold-plated T-56 rifle

Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake was arrested today by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) over the incident where a gold plated T56 firearm was found from an apartment complex in Wellawatte, Police said

The firearm was initially recovered from a residence of the Havelock City apartment complex.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the firearm is registered under the name of the former Minister.

Further investigations are underway
