Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe today expressed his appreciation to social media content creators and websites who rallied in his support following his arrest.
“I would like to thank all the supporters on social media and websites who have given me tremendous support by posting messages of support, and I intend to come and meet them all in person to express my gratitude there,” he said.
He further thanked all the MPs who stood by him against his arrest and called on them to unite in working towards a prosperous Sri Lanka.
A short while later, the official car of the Commander of the Navy, bearing plate NAHA 5006, departed from Navy House, Longdon Place, Colombo 7.
