Bail has been granted to former Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) (Retd.) Ravi Seneviratne, who was placed on remand over driving while being intoxicated and casuing a collision involving many vehicles.
Earlier today (31), he appeared before Justice Sanjaya L. M. Wijesinghe, the Additional Magistrate of Magistrate’s Court of Mount Lavinia.
Accordingly, the former SDIG Seneviratne was released on a cash bail of Rs. 2,500 and a surety bond of Rs. 100,000.
On Sunday (29), former SDIG Seneviratne was taken into cutody and placed on remand until November 1 as directed by the Magistrate’s Court of Mount Lavinia.
On Saturday (28), he is said to have driven under the influence of alcohol and collided his car against three other cars along the Marine Drive, in Colombo.
