President Ranil Wickramasinghe said that steps will be taken to develop Mannar as an energy hub, and an inter-city express train service between Thalaimannar to Colombo will start on September 15.
The President mentioned this while attending the annual festival of Mannar Madu Church today (15).
He said plans are underway to make Punaryn an energy city. These development activities are done in such a way that this holy land and forests are protected.
