Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dilip Wedaarachchi's son Ravindu Wedaarachchi and daughter-in-law Nethmi Silva were arrested last evening (6) after surrendering to the Weeraketiya Police.
They were wanted in connection with an incident that occurred on June 1 at the Dedigama interchange of the Southern Expressway where police had prevented them from attempting to transport a fridge in an unsafe manner. The two suspects are charged with obstructing the duties of police and criminal intimidation.
A senior police officer said the two suspects will be produced before court today (7).
