The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau has decided to set up a pool of 5,000 Sri Lankans who have completed Japan language studies for 2026 inorder to be considered for employment.
The Chairman of the Bureau Koshala Wickramasinghe expects to establish a programme through the IM Japan institution to send 1000 individuals to Japan.
He also explained the since there is an emerging demand of employment opportunities in Japan , district level training programmes will be carried out to develop a pool of Sri Lankans with the necessary language proficiency and other skills.
