Several places in most provinces across the island will experience showers or thundershowers after 2:00 pm today (31), according to the Department of Meteorology.
Moderately heavy rainfall of about 75mm is due at a few places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva Provinces along with Kurunegala District.
Showers or thundershowers are most likely in Eastern Province also, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces will meet misty conditions during the morning hours.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are on the cards at a few places in the sea areas off shores extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai via Mannar and Trincomalee to Pottuvil via Batticaloa.
Furthermore, multiple places in the other sea areas around the island will witness showers or thundershowers notably during the day or night.
Winds will be north-easterly or inconstant in direction and will strike at 20-25 KMPH.
The sea areas around the island are expected to tone down although strong gusts of wind and turbulent waters are foreseen during thundershowers transiently.
