Several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces will experience misty conditions and fairly heavy rainfall of about 75mm today (24), according to the Department of Meteorology.
A few spells of showers are due Western, Southern and Eastern provinces during the morning hours.
The Met. Department further predicts showers or thundershowers at a few places in most provinces of the island after 1.00 p.m.
In the meantime, showers or thundershowers are on the cards over many parts in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota.
Winds will be south-westerly or inconstant in direction and will strike at 20-30 KMPH.
The sea areas around the island are expected to be toned down although strong gusts of wind and turbulent waters are foreseen during thundershowers transiently.
