Several spells of showers will occur in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambanthota districts today, the Meteorology Department said.
A Duty forecaster added that showers or thundershowers may also occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle as well as Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.
He said fairly strong winds about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times in eastern slopes of the central hills as well as in Northern, North-central, North-western, Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Hambantota district.
