Rambukkana Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly posed as a Public Health Inspector (PHI) and obtained money from shops in Rambukkana town.
The arrest was made following a complaint made by the Rambukkana PHI yesterday (19). The 29-year-old suspect is a resident of Dikpitiya, Aranayaka.
Employees of a shop in Rambukkana town had apprehended the suspect and handed him over to police when he went to a shop in the town posing as a PHI and demanded money from them.
The suspect is due to be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate's Court today (20).
