A 62-year-old man was shot dead at his residence in Koggalla, Ambalantota this morning (19), Police said.
The suspect had succumbed to gunshot injuries by the time Ambalantota police arrived at the scene in response to a 119 police emergency call.
Police said the suspects, in search of the victim’s son, had entered the house but were spotted by the victim.
