A 39-year-old man and his four-year-old daughter died on the spot when the car they were travelling skidded off near the18km post (Millaniya) on the Southern expressway and crashed to railings, police said.
The fatal accident took place around 2.00 a.m. today and the car was heading towards Colombo returning from a pilgrimage to Kataragama. Three others in the car who sustained severe injuries have been rushed to the Kalutara Nagoda Hospital and Horana Base Hospital.
The deceased and injured are residents of Bandaragama.
